Ford Ranger bumper repair.
A clients Ford Ranger got rear ended and ruined his bumper and trailer hitch rigging.  Instead of buying new ones and having them installed he came to me to rebuild them. The total cost for the entire job was less the cost of just buying the bumper with out the trailer hitch.
The bumper and hitch were rusted solid so all the bolts had to be cut off or drilled to get it off. Some denting on the right side and bending by the hitch is visible.
The brackets for the bumper were damaged. The trailer hitch was bend and jammed into the bumpers. The trailer connection was severed as well.
The mounting brackets were severely bent.
This bracket had just collapsed.
Here's a close up of the damaged brackets once they'd been removed. You can see they've been collapsed.
The closer bracket has been heated and reforged. The one in back has not, for comparison.
The second bracket was cracked so after reforging it was cleaned and welded.
The hitch place was severely bent. The license place gives reference to the bend.
Because the plate could not be reforged it was cut along the damaged area.
After the hitch plate was removed with a plasma cutter it was prepped for grinding.
The hitch plate was welded back into place. Steel bar was used as a filler at the left and right sides where the bend did not meet with the plate. The welds are on both the top and bottom of the bumper.
The plate, after being rewedded. It's straight again, woot!
after reassembling the bumper, and painting the welds to protect them. New bolts were also used.

After being re-attached and re-wired.
